AZYLC JROTC Cadet Addresses Meeting

Massing of the Colors and Service of Remembrance

Massing of the Colors (and Service of Remembrance) is a patriotic ceremony to honor the American Flag and those who have served our country in the armed services.  It's also a time to rededicate faith in our nation and to express our gratitude for all who have served or currently serving.  Color guard units, distinguished guests, and guest speakers are all on hand to honor our servicemen and women.

Cadets and Family at Meeting

Massing of the Colors is free event open to the general public. Many local patriotic organizations participate in displaying their flags.  These include active duty, reserve, and National Guard units, ROTC and JROTC units, veteran groups, and other MOWW chapters.

Massing of the Colors

Patriotic music abounds with a live band playing at various times throughout the program.  At the end of the program, a bugler to plays "Taps" to honor fallen service members.

Massing of the Colors

Our 2017 Massing of the Colors took place on February 8th at The Colonnade, La Vita Auditorium in Surprise, Arizona.  The ceremony featured 38 flag bearing units from throughout the state.  Distinguished guests included special guest speaker Mr. Quang Nguyen. Mr. Nguyen immigrated from Vietnam in 1975.  He will share his experiences and what America means to him. Our 2018 MOC will be conducted on Wednesday, 28 February 2018.  Please click below for more information.

Massing of the Colors

After the cadets have attended, we invite them and their families to be our special guests at one of our monthly meetings.  This gives each cadet an opportunity to practice public speaking and for the Chapter to offer continued support and encouragement.
